The OpenStick T1 is an entry-level modular light painting wand developed by Socolode. Designed specifically for photographers, it features simple operation and strong expandability, making it versatile for creative shooting, portrait light painting, festival recordings, and large-scale light painting projects.

📦 Structure Overview​

The T1 features a modular design where every part is engineered for convenient shooting:

1. Connectable Light Wand​

  • Each light wand segment is 33cm long, perfect for daily shooting. For large scenes, big text, or group light painting, multiple segments can be connected up to 2 meters to meet different shooting needs
  • Plug-and-socket seamless tight connection ensures a secure fit that won't wobble or fall off during shooting, making transitions smooth
  • High-density LED beads with a soft diffusion cover deliver even, smooth light without graininess, resulting in clean lines that don't require post-processing

2. Firefly T1 Control Handle​

  • Ergonomic handle provides a comfortable grip that won't cause hand fatigue even after a full night of shooting, and stays non-slip when sweaty
  • The handle can be freely adjusted along the wand body, ensuring a comfortable grip for different angles and wand lengths
  • Standard 1/4 screw mount at the bottom is compatible with camera tripods and extension poles, eliminating the need for extra adapters. Mount it directly on a tripod for fixed light effects, or attach an extension pole for high-angle and large-scale shooting
  • All buttons are on the handle for one-handed operation

3. Portable Storage​

  • All accessories (wand + handle + charging cable) fit into a 35cm hard-shell storage case that fits in your camera bag for easy portability
  • The case is shockproof, protecting the LED beads from damage in your bag

🎮 Basic Operation (Learn in 30 Seconds)​

Single 5-way button — no complex operations to memorize, intuitive to use:

  • Middle Button (Power): Long press 2 seconds to power on/off; short press to switch between function modes
  • Left/Right Buttons: Switch options and adjust parameters
  • Settings: Long press the up button to enter settings for brightness and speed adjustment
  • Auto Power Save: Automatically powers off after 5 minutes of inactivity, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off

1. Full-Color Palette​

  • Built-in color wheel lets you adjust any color you want — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple — matching different themes and styles
  • Four-quadrant precise color control for accurate color depth and brightness adjustment, ensuring colors are true without color cast
  • Supports solid color, gradient, and rainbow light effects, perfect for creative portraits, festival vibes, and personalized photos

2. Custom Image Light Painting​

  • Transfer your own images, text, or logos to the wand — shoot whatever you want
  • Simple WiFi transfer from your phone, no complex operations needed. Transfers persist after power off
  • Supports JPG/PNG formats — simple text, patterns, and silhouette portraits can all be captured
  • Can't create images? Use AI drawing tools (like Doubao, Midjourney) to generate images — text, patterns, silhouettes. Convert them to high-contrast black and white, then transfer them directly to your wand

3. Battery & Charging​

  • Universal Type-C charging port compatible with your phone's charging cable — no dedicated charger needed
  • 6+ hours of continuous light painting on a full charge, sufficient for a full day of outdoor shooting
