Customize the look and feel of your storefront.

Choosing a theme​

Navigate to Online Store > Themes. Socolode ships with several free and paid themes. Each theme can be previewed on your store before committing.

Theme settings​

Click Customize on any installed theme to open the visual editor. You can adjust:

  • Colors: Primary, secondary, background, and text colors
  • Typography: Font family, size, and weight for headings and body text
  • Layout: Maximum content width, spacing, and grid columns
  • Header: Logo position, navigation style, and announcement bar
  • Footer: Column layout, payment icons, and social links

Pages​

Create custom pages under Online Store > Pages. Pages support rich text and HTML. Common pages include:

  • About Us: Your brand story
  • Contact: Form with email integration
  • Shipping Policy: Delivery times and costs
  • Return Policy: Return conditions and process

Under Online Store > Navigation, build two menu structures:

Displayed in the header. Typically links to:

  • Product categories (Home, Women, Men, Accessories)
  • Collections (New Arrivals, Sale)
  • Custom pages (About, Contact)

Displayed in the footer. Typically links to:

  • Policy pages (Privacy, Terms, Returns)
  • Social media profiles
  • Customer service links

Custom domain​

To use your own domain instead of your-store.socolode.com:

  1. Go to Settings > Domains
  2. Click Connect Domain
  3. Enter your domain (e.g., shop.example.com)
  4. Update your DNS records:
    • Add a CNAME record pointing to shops.socolode.com
    • Or add an A record pointing to the IP shown in your dashboard
  5. Wait for DNS propagation (can take up to 48 hours)

SSL certificates are automatically provisioned via Let's Encrypt once the domain is verified.

SEO settings​

Each page and product has an SEO section where you can set:

  • Meta title: Override the auto-generated title tag
  • Meta description: 160-character summary for search results
  • URL handle: Customize the slug (e.g., /products/red-sneakers)
  • Social sharing image: Image shown when the link is shared on social media

Socolode also generates a sitemap.xml and robots.txt automatically.
